As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25
Because I'm at work most days, I come home eager to be told what children have been up to. Getting news out of th eolder children is often an arduous process; they specialize in one-word answers to almost any questions. "Fine" or "Good" or "Okay" seem to do for all activities, whether classes or play dates, or ballet, rehearsals or trips to the museum.
Thankfully, their mother can usually fill me in on the details. But I never have a problem with two-year old Stephen.
As soon as I come through the door, even before I've hung my coat on the hall closet, Stevie is there ready to tell me all about his day. "I saw a video today, Daddy. Big Bird was in it. Miss Finch send him to the Dodos, but he wants to go back to Sesame Street. He wants to see his friend Snuffy. Two men paint him blue and he cries. I was scared. Elmo and Cookie Monster and Bert and Ernie and some people go to help him and take him home. After the video, my friend Adam came to play with me. I shared my toys with him. We played cars and trains. Maggie played with us too. Then his mother came to take him home. I cried. I wanted him to stay."
"I' am sure you'll see him again soon." I say as I pick up my little guy and head to the table for supper.
Lod, give me just a little of Stevie's eagerness to share Your good news with those around me.
